With two meets left, the wrestling team is nearing the end of their season. Their coach, Sean Seder, said the outlook for the end of the season is good. Seder said the team has been working hard and many of their individual goals have been met. Seder said, “Our goals are to win sectionals, and place top four in the districts.” Many of the team’s goals have been met as well and they plan on achieving more by the end of the season.

Their practice is relatively short, usually about an hour and a half. It consists of running and lifting. They believe in quality over quantity.

Some of the challenges faced this season have been trying to place better than last year. Seder said the seniors last year carried the team and they did not expect to beat that, but the underclassmen really stepped up.

Garrett S. (10) said, “My goals for the rest of the season are to support my team and help them out as best I can.” Garrett said to achieve this goal he, as well as the rest of the team, must work hard and dedicate themselves to the sport.

Seder said the wrestling team is all in unison and they know how to help each other in ways most people could not. Garret said, “The best part about being on the team is we’re a family and we all work together and it just works.” The team has won OCC this season. Seder said, “If you want to join the team you have to be mentally tough and determined.” If a person has what it takes to be a wrestler, the team will gladly accept him to their out of season training.
