Senior Alyssa S. recently slam dunked her way to 1,000 points on Saturday, Feb. 9 against Mount Vernon in Arrow Arena.

Alyssa scored 30-points which ultimately gained her 1,000 points throughout all four of her seasons. Alyssa got a spot on varsity her freshman year and has been playing basketball since she was in the first grade.

In her first three years, she scored 614-points alone and wanted to make it to the 1,000 point mark to “…have something I could look back on the rest of my life,” said Alyssa.

She was not completely alone on her journey to 1,000-points. Alyssa has a support system that has been with her from the beginning and will continue to stick by her side.

“My support system is my family for always pushing me to be the best that I can be on and off the court. My teammates are are also my support system and have helped me throughout my entire career,” said Alyssa.

After graduation, Alyssa will go to The Ohio State University and attend dental school.
