Allison A.
As an Ashland High School senior, Allison A. has been involved with journalism throughout all four of her years at AHS. As a freshman, she was enrolled in Journalism I and was quickly recruited to be a staff reporter on the high school paper her sophomore year, where she fell in love with writing even more. As a junior, she was promoted to Editor-in-Chief as well as Social Media Marketing Manager of the newspaper and received the 2018 AHS Journalist of the Year award. After working diligently as Editor-in-Chief, she was nominated as a correspondent for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in the summer of 2018. There, she attended George Mason University for a week and had the privilege of interviewing Ohio Senators and Representatives as well as touring Washington, D.C. as a National Journalism Youth Correspondent.

Along with being involved with the school paper, Allison is also a varsity high school swimmer. As a sophomore and junior, she placed for districts in several relays and hopes to do the same as a senior. She has been swimming nearly her whole life and enjoys the water so much that she works as a lifeguard in her spare time at Brookside Pool and the Ashland YMCA.

Allison plans to graduate from Ashland High School and attend George Mason University in the fall of 2019. There, she will study pre-law and journalism and hopes to find a job as a reporter for a news outlet in Washington, D.C.
